* European wheat futures fell on Wednesday in thin trade, retracing from the previous day's rise as dealers awaited news possibly later in the week on Greece's debt bailout plan.

* Poor yields in the northern US spring wheat belt should prompt the USDA to cut its estimate of overall 2011 US wheat production to the lowest level since 2006, analysts' said.

* Syria's state grains agency has rejected all offers and made no purchase in an international tender to buy 100,000 tonnes of soft wheat of optional-origin, European traders said on Wednesday.

* Dry weather continued to bedevil the US Plains hard red winter wheat region, with no signs of relief from the devastating drought soon.
