European stocks drop at open

LONDON: European stock markets fell at the start of trading on Wednesday following losses across Asia and on Wall Street.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index slipped 0.6 percent to 6,134.13 points compared with Tuesday's close.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 index also dropped 0.6 percent to 9,828.05 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 0.5 percent to 4,275.39.
