Thai Central Bank says ready to act on volatility in baht

Published Updated

"We're still in line, but we may have more dollar buying from gold purchases. The central bank is ready to act if it's too volatile," Atchana Waiquamdee told reporters.

She added the central bank would monitor how the baht's weakness would affect inflation and said the central bank was worried about the global financial markets.

The baht was around 31.09 baht per dollar, around an eight-month low.
