Fibre optics in Hyderabad, Kotri for improved internet connections

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad and Kotri SITES are being linked to fibre Optics through G-PON and after completion of this scheme, the industrialists, using connections of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) will be able to avail better internet technology.

This was stated by the Regional General Manager PTCL Hyderabad Region Javed Ahmed Shaikh while talking to business community during his visit to secretariat of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He said that PTCL Hyderabad Region is leading among others regions in providing broadband connections to customers as at present 60 thousand users are availing internet facility through broadband connections and as a result of it PTCL had earned additional business of Rs 5 million from Hyderabad Region last month.

The PTCL has been engaged in installation of Echo-Points with an amount of Rs 7 million in order to improve the communication facility in Hyderabad SITE, he informed and added that services of active courier companies have been hired for speedy dispatch of PTCL bills to customers.

He informed that strict directives have been issued to all linemen of PTCL to address the customers' complaints at the earliest as no leniency would be tolerated by the management in this direction. The management has already taken action against those linemen who found in negligence of duty, he informed.

Earlier, the Senior Vice President HCCI Turab Ali Khoja and Chairman HCCI Sub-Committee on Telecommunication Zaheer Jan informed the grievances to Regional General Manager PTCL which are being faced by the business community of Hyderabad particularly not resolving the customers' complaints in areas of SITE, Goods, Fruits and Vegetable Markets and Latifabad.

They also demanded for handy packages for industrialists in SITE areas with improvement in the internet service so that industrialists could get advantage of modern facility for the correspondence in other parts of the world.
