Reviewing different crops at Ayub Agriculture Research Institute Faislabad on Sunday, he asked agriculture scientists to introduce seeds resistant to virus of different cash crops like cotton.
He also asked the agriculture officers to extend all sorts of cooperation regarding the promotion of the Punjab chief minister's kitchen gardening programme.
He said that on the directive of the chief minister annually funds worth over Rs 1 billion were being allocated in the provincial budget to modernise the agriculture sector.
He asked the agriculture experts to aware farmers about latest agriculture techniques to help them boost produce besides make them self-reliant in vegetables.
