This was decided by participants in a meeting held at Sindh Chief Minister House on Saturday, said a statement.

The meeting decided to further consolidate, coordinate and enhance the action against the criminals and extortionists in Karachi, particularly in the light of directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

It was further decided that law enforcement agencies should continue the action against criminals without any hindrance across the board.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister A. Rehman Malik co-chaired the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wasan, Sindh Minister for Law and Industries, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Waseem Ahmed, IG Sindh Police, Wajid Ali Durrani, D.G Rangers Sindh Maj. Gen. Ejaz Chaudhry, AIG Police Karachi, Saud Mirza, DIG's of Police for East, West and South and officers of Special Branch and law enforcement agencies.

The meeting discussed in detail the action being taken against criminals and extortionists, particularly the role played by Rangers, FC and Sindh Police.

The Interior Minister conveyed commendation on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister to the Sindh Government, all law enforcers who took part in targeted action in restoring the peace in Karachi.

The Chief Minister Sindh on behalf of Sindh Government thanked the force of federal government in curbing the menace of criminals and the violators of law.

It was noted that the prosecution wing should be improved so that it should pursue the cases against criminals and terrorists effectively up to the mark.

It was also decided that the law minister should discuss the matter with Home Minister and I.G Police Sindh, and he will endeavour to enhance the capability of prosecution department.

It was decided that the recent arrested target killers and extortionists should be brought to justice whichho is only possible with credible evidence and strong prosecution.

It was also decided that the law and order meeting shall be held weekly.

The AIG Police Karachi conveyed the appreciation of business community particularly the small traders on deployment of FC in trade centres, markets and industrial areas and expressed their satisfaction that it has played a considerable role in controlling criminal activities.

The Interior Minister directed the DG Rangers Sindh to ensure the deployment of Rangers in various business and trade areas as desired by business community, besides other sensitive areas of Karachi.

The performance of Rangers and FC was also appreciated in the meeting, while it was decided that the action should be accelerated.

The meeting asked the IG Police Sindh to follow the directives of the Supreme Court to further enhance the action against criminals and extortionists in the light of commitment of Sindh Government.

The meeting was of the view that the criminals and extortionists being arrested may be brought before public through media.

It was also decided to consult with all known political parties and solicit views and suggestions so as to control the law and order effectively particularly against the criminals and anti-social elements.

The participants were of the view that the political parties should Identify criminal elements among their ranks and help law enforcement agencies for action against criminals and anti-social elements.
