Turkey's 10-year benchmark bond yield falls to 5-month low on new central bank governor

ISTANBUL: Turkey's 10-year benchmark bond yield fell to a five-month low below 9.80 percent on Monday after officials gave the name of the new central bank governor, ending uncertainty over the appointment.

Two officials told Reuters Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has chosen Murat Cetinkaya, a deputy central bank governor, to be the new governor.

They said his name was expected to be circulated for approval at a cabinet meeting on Monday.

The benchmark 10-year government bond yield tTR110226TA=IS fell to 9.78 percent from 9.96 percent at Friday's close.
