Sri Lankans keen to invest in Pakistan: Sri Lanka's minister

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir and Sri Lanka's Commerce Minister A. Rishad Bathi-uddin met Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad here at the Governor House.

During the meeting, it was agreed to promote Pak - Sri Lanka bilateral trade, according to a handout issued from the Governor House here on Wednesday.

The Governor said visible improvement has been witnessed in law and order situation across the country, including Sindh province after operation Zarb-e-Azb, adding that improved security situation is encouraging foreign investment in the country.

Dr. Ishratul Ebad said the Sindh province is suitable for investment and the government will provide all possible assistance to investors.

He said that Pak-Sri Lanka relations are decades old and investment will further strengthen them.

Sri Lanka's minister said improved law and order situation in Pakistan after Zarb-e-Azb is being appreciated across the world.

He said Sri Lankan investors are keen to invest in Pakistan's energy, agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors.
