LAHORE: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) announced an end to a weekly strike of lawyers on the judicial policy here on Sunday.

Briefing the media on the Lahore High Court premises after a joint meeting of lawyer representatives of the SCBA and the PBC, a spokesman said it was demanded that importance in the judicial policy should be given to recommendations of district bar associations.

He said that it was decided that the strike could again be started if rights of lawyers were ignored in the judicial policy.

Representatives of the SCBA and the PBC directed all bar associations that licences should be carefully issued to judges who were sacked from the judiciary on charges of corruption.

Ahsan Bhawan, Yaseen Azad and Azam Nazir Tarar from the PBC and Zubair Khalid, voice president SCBA, including all provincial presidents of the SCBA attended the meeting.
