Indonesian medical team to arrive Pakistan early next week

Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare and Disaster Management, Agung Laksono, received Ambassador of Pakistan to Indonesia, Sanaullah for a coordination meeting with members of the team, apprising them of their assignment in Pakistan, said a message received here on Wednesday.

The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Ministry of health and the Ministry of Coordination, Indonesia.

Giving details about the team, Director, Vector Borne Diseases Control, Environmental Health, Indonesia, Dr Rita Kusriastuti said her country would be sending medical equipment, fumigation machines, blood analyzers and lab material to Pakistan.

Three Pediatricians, two internists and field staff will also proceed to Pakistan to take part in the relief activities.

Indonesia had sent two medical and support teams to Pakistan last year to help in the relief activities for flood affectees.
