At 10:10 am (0015 GMT), the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 was up 19.8 points at 4,060.0 after a mixed performance in America overnight, where the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose but the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell.

The Australian dollar was trading at 102.62 US cents early in the session, up from its 102.07 US cents close on Tuesday.
