He said that 1388331 houses were damaged and 342 people died in rain related accidents. In his report, he further informed that as many as 2737 relief camps have been established where 482899 affected people comprising 146992 male, 141644 female and 194333 children have been encamped and provided necessary living facilities.
Giving the data of affected people, he said that 1021301 people have been affected in Badin, 927953 in Khairpur, 900000 in Shaheed Benazirabad, 823448 at Umerkot, 705151 at Mirpurkhas, 477523 at Sanghar, 267368 at Tando Muhammad Khan, 253982 at Tando Allahyar, 291216 at Dadu, 178151 at Thatta, 127454 at Tharparkar, 172067 at Ghotki, 100000 at Matiari, 145030 at Kamber, 91400 at Hyderabad, 54355 at Larkana, 48672 at Nousheroferoze, 12610 at Kashmore, 8450 at Jamshoro, 335 at Jacubabad, 75 at Shikarpur and 04 at Karachi.
Giving the details of houses damaged in the heavy rains, he said that Badin district remained worst affectees with the damage of 382562 houses while in District Shaheed Benazirabad 300000 houses, 190715 houses damaged in Umerkot, 118110 houses at Mirpurkhas, 122703 at Sanghar, 75049 at Jamshoro, 50800 at Tando Muhammad Khan, 27697 at Tando Allahyar, 4202 at Hyderabad, 1688 at Jacubabad, 32060 at Ghotki, 15201 at Dadu, 11429 at Khairpur, 5794 at Larkana, 700 at Matiari, 15941 at Nousheroferoze, 15458 at Tharparkar, 11325 at Thatta, 5242 at Kamber, 1620 at Kashmore, 30 at Shikarpur and 05 houses damaged at Karachi.
As per the data of villages, he said that as many as 31960 villages including 6395 villages have been damaged in Badin district, 480 in Dadu, 1361 in Ghotki, 318 in Hyderabad, 01 in Jacobabad, 614 in Jamshoro, 388 in Kamber, 105 at Kashmore, 408 at Larkana, 5770 at Mirpurkhas, 1480 at Nausheroferoze, 3104 at Sanghar, 4104 at Shaheed Benazirabad, 1254 in Tando Allahyar, 1555 at Tando Muhammad Khan, 1357 in Tharparkar, 630 in Thatta, 2629 in Umerkot and 07 villages have been damaged in Shikarpur district.
The Director General PDMA further informed that 342 persons lost their lives in rain related accidents and among them 43 belong to Mirpurkhas district, 31 to Sanghar district, 30 to Badin district, 18 Dadu district, 11 Ghotki, 11 Hyderabad, 02 Jacobabad, 09 Jamshoro, 06 Kamber, 04 Kashmore, 08 Khairpur, 06 Larkana, 19 Matiari, 24 Noushehroferoze, 22 Shaheed Benazirabad, 03 Shikarpur, 01 Sukkur, 02 Tando Allahyar, 14 Tando Muhammad Khan, 15 Tharparkar, 18 Thatta, 20 Umerkot and 25 causalities belongs to Karachi.
PDMA Director said that standing crops on 2049023 acres were also badly damaged which include 375718 acres at Badin district, 88043 at Dadu, 68679 at Ghotki, 25018 at Hyderabad, 3594 at Jacobabad, 36821 at Jamshoro, 4192 at Kamber, 14532 at Kashmore, 117350 at Khairpur, 5396 at Larkana, 75342 at Matiari, 165278 at Mirpurkhas, 61829 at Nousheroferoze, 356473 at Sanghar, 163250 at Shaheed Benazirabad, 20218 at Shikarpur, 25703 at Sukkur, 81645 at Tando Allahyar, 78038 at Tando Muhammad Khan, 12647 at Tharparkar, 160954 at Thatta and 108303 acres have been damaged at Umerkot district.
