650,000 houses constructs in earthquake hit areas: ERRA

According to official sources, ERRA has ensured that the people must construct their houses according to approved design that were destroyed in the earthquake of year 2005.

ERRA has so far completed 7505 projects of various nature including over 2000 educational institutes, 160 environment related projects, 390 government buildings, 162 health related projects including Sheikh Zaid Hospital in Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot.

A total of 30 colleges fully equipped with laboratories and modern facilities have also been constructed in the quake hit areas with the help of Kuwait, he said.

King Abdullah University has been constructed in Muzaffarabad including its two campuses in Rawalakot and Bagh.

A comprehensive mechanism was on cards to minimise future quake destructions, he added.

As many as 4256 projects of water and sanitation and 141 projects of miscellaneous nature have also been completed in collaboration with international agencies, he said.
