School teacher, her son among eight dead due to explosion

Mumtaz Feroz and her son were walking to their school, located quite close to SSP Aslam's residence within the jurisdiction of Darakshan Police Station, in old Clifton area, when the incident occurred.

Their bodies were carried to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center coupled with those of Head Constable Sohail, son of Haji Mohammad, Constable Junaid, son of Mohammad Fareed, a cook Nizamuddin, son of Dhani Buksh, all performing their respective duties at the SSP's residence.

Three unidentified bodies were also taken to JPMC from the site.

According to police officials five persons who were injured included a girl Falak Naz and a man Abdul Qayyum Khan. They were taken privately from the explosion site to the Aga Khan Hospital.

Mohammad Akmal was also a citizen who was incidentally passing by the place and got injured. He was alos carried to JPMC along-with wounded Aleemuddin and Munawwar Khan, working as servants at the police officer's residence.

Among five others who were also injured were maids Seema and Shehnaz walking to their respective work places close to the residence of the police officer. They were shifted to Ziauddin Hospital, Clifton.

Three others with minor injuries were reportedly taken to South City Hospital, Clifton.
