China to issue 400bn yuan of special local government debt in 2016

BEIJING: China will issue 400 billion yuan ($61.48 billion) of special local government debt this year, Premier Li Keqiang said on Saturday at the opening ceremony of the country's annual parliament meeting.

The government aims to expand the world's second-largest economy by 6.5 percent to 7 percent this year, Li said in prepared remarks for delivery.
