Consul General China presents relief cheque to flood victims
He expressed sympathies and sorrows on huge losses of lives and properties of people due to heavy rains in Sindh and said that people of China are with people of Pakistan in its times of happiness to sorrows, said a statement.
He said that the Government and people of China would extend their assistance in the time of such disasters.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah while welcoming the Consul General of China said that Pakistan and China are two neighboring countries having very cordial relations since long time.
He added that those relations were further strengthened during the period of Shaheed Zufiqar Ali Bhutto and Premier Chon En Lai during the leadership of Mao Ze Tung.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah informed the Consul General that recent heavy rains had disturbed and destroyed the economy and life of whole province of Sindh.
He gave a brief picture of losses and said that houses, roads, infrastructure, animals and human lives have received lot of loss.
The Chief Minister Sindh thanked the gesture of cooperation and assistance for people suffering due to disaster on rain and hoped that other countries and agencies would also come forward to assist the rain affected people.
The Consul General of China, on the occasion presented cheque amounting to Rs 400,000 contributed by staff of Consulate General, to the CM Sindh, who thanked the Consul General of China.
