All-out effort being made against dengue
This was stated by Divisional Commissioner Syed Tahir Husain in a statement issued here on Friday. He said that special isolation wards have been established in Allied and District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals where dengue patients are being treated intensively.
He said that special spray campaign has been initiated throughout the division. The DCOs concerned were also directed to make elaborate arrangements for the complete elimination of dengue mosquitoes by making spray campaign 100 percent successive.
He said that NGOs and civil society have also be reactivated to play their dynamic role for creating awareness among the people so that they could take precautionary and preventive measures against the menace of this fatal disease.
He said that seminars, walks and other awareness programs are also being organized in educational institutions in addition to displaying thousand of banners and distributing millions of pamphlets among the people for their awareness about dengue fever.
He said that dengue fever is a curable disease if the affected persons contact the specialists in time. In this connection, Punjab government has also launched a toll free help line 0800-99000 for providing awareness and guidance about dengue virus and its treatment, he added.
