Pakistan attends New Champions of World Economic Forum

On the occasion of the fifth edition of the New Champion, Mir Jamali met leaders from all over the world representing Governments, Social sector, Industry and Business sectors Scientists and entrepreneurs.

He had very productive interactions with his counterparts, specially from China , Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Azerbaijani, India, South Africa, Russia, Belgium, and Norway.

In these meets it was agreed to future expand bilateral cooperation in the field of science and technology.

Talking to APP, the minister said that he besides meting various delegates also participated in two main sessions. At the inter-ministerial session that was Chaired by Chinese Minister for Science and Technology Wang Jang and attended by delegates from Russia, India, Belgium, Singapore, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Azerbaijan and UN representatives and businessmen. The second session was lasted for two hours in which future bilateral cooperation in the field of Science and technology came under discussion.

The Federal Minister for Science also participated in all major sessions related to S&T.

These meetings helped a lot to understand global challenges and shared experiences with each other.

These interactions provided a good start and introduction to each other, while concrete steps will be taken up in follow up meetings.

The Minister expressed his satisfaction on the outcome of the forum.

Premier Wen Jiabao on Wednesday inaugurated the The World Economic Forum known as the "Summer Davos" and was attended by over 1,500 delegates.
