K-Electric removes 3800 Illegal Connections across Karachi

KARACHI: The K-Electric has removed around 3,800 illegal connections, weighing 800 KG, during 65 raids in different locations in the city.

A statement on Tuesday said that raids were conducted in various areas of the city including Orangi, Lyari, Clifton, Bahadurabad, Saddar, Garden,Liaquatabad and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

A multistory residential project in Scheme 33, Gadap was raided and several illegal connections were removed and penalty was charged on the spot.

Moreover, 400 kundas were removed in the locality of Lines Area, Bizerta Lane and Clayton Road.

In another raid, 1,000 illegal connections were disconnected in the areas of Clifton, Bahadurabad, Saddar and Garden due to discrepancy in payments.

KE Spokesperson added `We are achieving great results during the second phase of Operation Burq where we have removed 4,000 illegal connection from the Baldia vicinity only.

Our target is to eliminate the Kunda Mafia so the menace of Power Theft could be curtailed'.
