"Definitely the rains brought destruction, but the government is also duty bound to mitigate the suffering of the people," he said while talking to various delegates from interior of Sindh who called on him here on Wednesday.

He said that concerted efforts were required by all to help the affected people and added that government has already launched initiative to conduct survey of all the rain-affected areas.

The Minister said that all those made homeless by the natural disaster will be provided with financial assistance to reconstruct their homes and added that all the basis facilities including food, medicines were being provided to the people across the province.

He also appealed to the international community to extend helping hand to the calamity hit people of the province.

Meanwhile, on the directives of the Minister, relief goods were dispatched to the people of Sanghar, Badin, Nawabshah and Mirpurkhas.
