ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali Friday informed the Senate that some 3600 MW of electricity would be generated from RLNG.

Replying to a question during Question Hour, the minister said that the government was pursuing renewable energy projects to meet the growing requirement of electricity.

He said power plants running on expensive fuel were being converted to RLNG and coal to generate cheap electricity.

The minister said today total power generation stood at 9950 MW against the demand of 13,000 MW.

He said the industrial sector was exempted from power load-shedding by the incumbent government to enhance country's exports.
