Russia calls for peaceful resolution to Egypt 'crisis'

Moscow also warned against outside intervention, saying that Egyptians should decide their own future."Just as before we are convinced that the Egyptian people are capable themselves of defining their fate and the future of their country without any outside interference," ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

The brief statement came after Russian state news agency ITAR-TASS on Friday published comments by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov saying that outside powers should not give Mubarak "ultimatums."Lavrov expressed his hopes for stability in Egypt but made no mention of Mubarak's resignation.
