The newspaper cited a government source who said the figures were given to the cabinet by Planning and International Cooperation Minister Faiza Abu el-Naga on Wednesday.
The planning minister is due to announce economic statistics later on Thursday. Egypt's financial year runs from July 1 to June 30.
Egypt's economy had been growing strongly before an uprising erupted in January and toppled President Hosni Mubarak on Feb. 11, sending investors and tourists packing. But economists say economic activity has been improving since then.
