Sindh govt keen to restore rights of workers: Labor Minister
In a meeting with the General Secretary, Pakistan Workers Federation, Khurshid Ahmed, the minister said all efforts are being made for reinstatement of 4,711 workers dismissed by KESC administration.
He said that measures were also being taken for abolition of criminal cases registered against some of these workers.
Amir Nawab Khan said this will be ensured after necessary consultation with Sindh Chief Minister, Sindh Home Minister, IG Police of Sindh and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KESC.
He told Khurshid Ahmed, leading a 10 member delegation of workers, that efforts would be made to settle the dispute between KESC workers and its administration.
Sindh Labour Department will attempt to restore relationship between the KESC administration and the workers, he said.
Other labour leaders present on the occasion included Central President of WAPDA Hydro Electric Union, Abdul Latif Nizamani and Provincial Secretary, Mohammad Iqbal Qaimkhani.
