FoDP Workshop on Institution Capacity Building in Ankara starts today
Turkey has offered to co-host the workshop.
The workshop will consider long-term institutional partnerships will be considered between various institutions in Pakistan and their counterpart organizations in FoDP countries.
The workshop will discuss proposals which will be presented by national stakeholders in Pakistan and FoDP members in areas including i) agriculture, ii) security, iii) governance, iv) education, v) technical education, vi) energy and vii) parliamentary institutions.
The meeting will set the future agenda of substantive collaboration between institutions in Pakistan and FoDP countries and organizations.
The Pakistan delegation to the Workshop, will be led by Senator Syeda Sughra Imam, Chairperson of the FoDP Working Group on Institution Capacity Building.
It will also include heads and senior representatives of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB), National Vocational & Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC), and National Policy Academy.
Pakistan Parliament will be represented by Noor Alam Khan, Member of the National Assembly.
Senior executives of counterpart organizations in FoDP member countries, their respective development agencies and regional heads of multilateral institutions will also attend the two-day event.
Institution Capacity Building is one of the five clusters of cooperation identified in the first FoDP Ministerial meeting convened in Tokyo in April 2009.
