According to a private television channel, the hike was approved under monthly fuel adjustment while tariffs raise will be applicable to all the consumers and it will be included in the bills of next month. However, the hike would not applicable on KESC consumers.

The increase is being attributed to fuel adjustment charges.

The hike in tariff will take effect from August 7. As per media reports NEPRA has also approved increase in power tariff by 82 paisas per unit following the increase in gas tariff by OGRA.
