LONDON: Europe's main stock markets crept higher in opening deals on Monday in cautious deals before this week's crucial Federal Reserve policy meeting.

In initial trade, London's FTSE 100 index added 0.4 percent to 5,978.8 points compared with Friday's close.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 0.64 percent to 10,406.7 points and the CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.5 percent to open at 4,572.4.

All three indices had slumped by about two percent on Friday, as global oil prices tanked close to seven-year lows on oversupply worries.
