Pakistan is home of most stunning Himalayan peaks and various magnificent valleys and has deserts, historical places and forts which were the main attraction for tourists during the period, an official of Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) told APP on Tuesday.

As per details, Pakistan earned 243 million dollar in 2008, 240.6 million dollar in 2009 and 305 million dollar in 2010.

He said authorities were aware of the potential of tourism of the country and PTDC has formulated plans to improve further infrastructure, communication, accommodation and security to restore its tourism.

To a question, the official said government was taking appropriate measures for revival of tourism industry in the different parts of the country.

He said despite all problems, the number of travellers is gradually increasing.
