Pakistan Agri Forum (PAF) Chairman, Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal said on Tuesday while talking to APP here.

He said that recent rains would benefit different crops such as sugarcane, rice etc, adding that the rain water would augment use of fertilizer to some extent.

However, he stressed that the huge quantity of rain water must be harnessed each year for irrigation purposes through new reservoirs.

Regarding the damage caused to onion crop in Sindh by recent floods, he said, "We have sufficient onion in stock which must be brought out from go-downs so that middlemen could not exploit the situation and fleece consumers."
