Rain hits onion crops in Sindh, price climbs to Rs1500 per maund
ISLAMABAD : Onion price has surged by 100 percent in two days due to rains that have affected crops in Sindh.

President Anjuman Wholesale Vegetable Market Karachi Haji Shahjahan said that onion crops in Badin, Sanghar, Nasarpur and Tando Allahyar had been devastated by rains.
As a result the supply of the commodity had been suspended to the vegetable market, a private news channel reported on Sunday.
Shahjahan said the price of onion has jumped to Rs1500 from Rs700 per maund in only two days.
Its retail price had soared to Rs35 per kg from Rs15 per kg.
