ISTANBUL: The main Istanbul stock index fell 2 percent on Thursday amid worries about tensions with Moscow following Turkey's downing of a Russian jet in Syria.

Investors have also expressed concern about Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's commitment to the central bank's independence when his government programme, released on Wednesay, failed to contain a line about its ability to set monetary policy independently.
