European stock markets rise at open

LONDON: Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Tuesday, rebounding from the previous day's losses.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.47 percent to 6,325.01 points compared with Monday's close.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index won 0.29 percent to 10,846.96 points and the Paris CAC 40 climbed 0.53 percent to 4,937.37.

Mounting expectations that the United States will raise interest rates in December for the first time in nine years dominated world financial markets Monday, weighing on stockss but underpinning the dollar.
