Turkish stocks jump five percent after AKP win

ISTANBUL: Turkish stocks leapt on Monday after the Justice and Development Party (AKP) reclaimed its parliamentary majority in a decisive weekend election win.

The main index on the Istanbul stock exchange, the BIST, was up 5.4 percent at 83,735 points shortly after the opening.
