FO responsible for NOC for movement for diplomats: Spokesperson
This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Tehmina Janjua in her weekly press briefing here at Foreign Office.
Commenting on the issue of restrictions and movement of foreign diplomats in Pakistan, the spokesperson said, "Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible to address all the issues relating to the movement of diplomats."
Replying to another question, the spokesperson denied to issue any orders to 200 US diplomats to leave Pakistan within next 30 days adding that reports published in the press in this regard are not correct.
On Pak-US relations, the spokesperson said as the Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has already mentioned that there are some operational details, which are being worked out between the two countries.
She said there are some of the concerns on both sides and these are being discussed.
The spokesperson said, "We continue to engage with the United States for building partnership for our shared goals."
She said, "It remains our belief that this relationship is crucial for the peace and stability of the entire region and beyond.
"The realization on both the sides about the importance of this partnership and the need for it to be founded upon mutual trust and respect was fully acknowledged, during the Secretary of State's conversation with the Foreign Minister over the telephone a few days ago.
Replying to a question about latest situation in Libya and Pakistan's response to it, the spokesperson said, "we are monitoring the situation in Libya. Our embassy in Tripoli is operational and watching the situation."
She however said according to latest reports, all the Pakistanis working in Libya are safe and the foreign office is in close contact with the embassy in Tripoli.
About hoisting of flag of Libyan Rebels at the embassy of Libya in Islamabad, the spokesperson said, the foreign office has not received any official intimation in this regard.
Answering an other question, the spokesperson said Pakistan and China have very deep rooted relations and Pakistan is always happy with the development in China.
On the issue of human rights violation in Occupied Kashmir and issue of mass grave, the spokesperson said it is important that human rights should be respected in Indian Occupied Kashmir and the crimes related to violation of human rights should be punished accordingly.
About the statement of Bramdagh Bugti who is living in Switzerland, the spokesperson said Pakistan has already taken up the issue of Bramdagh Bugti's presence with Swiss authorities.
The spokesperson said as part of regional outreach, President Asif Ali Zardari visited Bahrain on August 17 on the invitation of King Hammad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
She said the two leaders held extensive and wide ranging discussions during this visit.
They agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and consolidate cooperation in the economic, trade and political fields. Regional and global developments were also discussed by the two leaders.
The spokesperson said Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar is returning from her first visit to China after taking over as Foreign Minister.
Pakistan's relations with China are unique, long standing, broad-ranging and multifaceted.
The spokesperson said the Foreign Minister's visit is yet another important landmark in the series of top level interactions which point to the robustness of the Pak-China friendship and the commitment of both sides to invest this relationship with ever greater substance.
