PIA to transport 55,800 intending pilgrims to Saudia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would transport 55,800 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia including 43,600 through 148 Pre-Hajj flights and 12,200 through regular flights, said official sources on Tuesday.

The flight operation, commenced from August 16, was being conducted with fleet of Boeing 777, Airbus 310 and Airbus 330 aircraft from seven major cities of Pakistan included Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Sialkot.

The Pre-Hajj operation will culminate on September 17.

While the airline's Post Hajj operation would commence from September 27 and concluded on October 28.

This year PIA scouts would be deputed for assisting the pilgrims at Airports in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Leaflets containing information regarding Baggage allowance, excess baggage, change of booking and related information have already been sent to Hajj camps, PIA ticketing Offices and the airline's travel agents for distribution to the pilgrims.
