European shares climb at open

LONDON: Europe's main stock markets rose at the open on Wednesday, as traders reacted to a batch of company earnings updates ahead of the Federal Reserve's latest policy statement.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.63 percent to 6,596.47 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 won 0.67 percent to 11,249.30 points and the CAC 40 in Paris advanced 0.58 percent to 5,006.01 compared with Tuesday's close.
