European stocks close down

PARIS: Europe's main markets finished lower on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies shedding 1.13 percent to 6,579.81 points.

In the eurozone, the CAC 40 in Paris retreated 0.58 percent to 5,057.36 points, while Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 1.43 percent to 11,347.45 points.
