China to establish Bio-Tech Research Lab in Pakistan

MULTAN: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said on Saturday that China would establish Bio-Tech Research Laboratory in Pakistan under a joint venture programme to promote agriculture sector in the country.

Paying a visit to Cotton Research Station Multan, he said that Chinese President paid a successful visit to Pakistan, in recent past. He observed that both the countries were enjoying brotherly relations.

Sun Weidong stated that bio-tech research lab would offer excellent opportunities to carry out joint study and research and also enhance maximum cooperation between scientists of both countries. He observed that high quality cotton would be produced.

About Pak-China economic corridor, the envoy maintained that it would benefit masses, two countries as well as the whole region. He said that there would be maximum cooperation between the countries in the realm of science, technology, agriculture, power sector and other infrastructure. Sun Weidong claimed that both countries would reap numerous achievements.

Earlier, Director Cotton Research Station Dr Sagher briefed the delegation about different cotton verities developed by the research station and some other achievements of the department.

The delegation also inspected demonstration plants of different verities at the research station.
