Rs 71.63bn allocated for social sector: minister
Talking to various delegations on Saturday, he said that Rs 2 billion would be utilized for water filtration plants besides Rs 12 billion for local governments for development schemes and Rs 3 billion for local level development schemes.
An amount of Rs 70 billion have been allocated for South Punjab in the ADP of current financial year which is 32 percent of the development budget whereas population of south Punjab is 31 percent, he concluded.
He said the Punjab government had taken revolutionary steps for providing jobs, education, health, food and other social facilities which included Ashiyana Housing Scheme, Jinnah Abadi Scheme, Yellow Cab Scheme, Daanish Schools, IT Labs in schools, free medicines and dialysis in hospitals, green tractors scheme etc.
