London stock market tumbles more than 3.0pc

LONDON : London 's main stock index slumped by more than 3.0 percent on Friday, mirroring a rout across global indices.

The FTSE 100 index of leading shares sank 3.07 percent to 4,935.73 points at about 0745 GMT, falling below the 5,000-points barrier in the process.
