Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers and 49,871 tonnes diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 69 percent on Monday where a total of ten ships namely ACX Refflesia, M.V Tycoon II, M.V Alexi-I, M.V Afamia, M.V Hai Yu, M.V New Sun, M.T Golden Ambrosia, M.T Eastern Chem, M.T SC Bei Hai and Olympic Spirit were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, corn, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 92,149 tonnes, comprising 73,275 tonnes imports and 18,874 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,472 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Four ships M.V Pearls of Jabel Ali, C.V ACX Refflesia, C.V MSC Magali and M.T Eastern Chem sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships M.T Olympic Spirit and M.T Golden Ambrosia are expected to sail on Tuesday.

Four ships C.V Maersk Kolkata, C.V Al-Sabahia, M.T Gem of Dahej and M.T Al-Salam-II carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday, August 16, while two more ships C.V Izumo and C.V CMA CGM Strauss are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday August 17.
