European stocks rise at open

LONDON: Europe's main stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.18 percent at 7,041.03 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 index gained 0.17 percent to 11,887.14 points and the CAC 40 in Paris advanced 0.11 percent to 5,217.08 points compared with Wednesday's close.
