ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Court on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of former president Pervaiz Musharraf over his consistent absence in Ghazi Abdul Rasheed murder case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Wajid Ali Khan heard Abdul Rasheed Ghazi murder case here and directed the police to present Musharraf on next date of hearing besides he ordered to seize the surety bonds of his guarantors.

Musharraf's new lawyer Malik Tahir Mehmood submitted power of attorney, which was accepted by the court. He apprised the court that his client could not appear before the court due to health problems and a nine-member medical board had been established in this regard.

He appealed to the court to exempt former president from appearance till the completion of report by medical board.

Raising objection on the arguments, the counsel for Lal Masjid Tariq Asad Advocate said the medical board was established in Bugti murder case and it has no link with Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.

After hearing the arguments the court rejected plea seeking exemption of Pervez Musharraf from hearing and issued non-bailable arrest warrants of former president and also ordered to seize the surety bonds submitted by his guarantors.

However, the court adjourned hearing till April 27.
