Call for the shutdown has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and other pro-movement leaders, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The APHC chairman, addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar on Friday, said that Kashmiris had been offering supreme sacrifices to secure their inalienable right to self-determination and they were determined to take their liberation struggle to its logical end.
The occupation authorities continued to place Syed Ali Gilani under house arrest preventing him even to offer Juma prayers.
The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League in a statement strongly denounced police raids on its headquarters at Rajbagh in Srinagar. On the other hand, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one youth during a siege and search operation at Tangwari Warson in Kralpora area of Kupwara.
