3,600 MW additional electricity to be produced with LNG

ISLAMABAD: A comprehensive plan has been prepared to overcome energy crisis and provide relief to people.

According to Radio Pakistan quoting official sources that several hydel, solar and wind energy projects have been launched to eliminate load-shedding.

Steps are also being taken to control power theft and replace old and obsolete power transmission lines to avoid line losses.

The sources said 13 billion dollars will be spent on power generation through alternative sources.

3600 megawatt additional electricity will be produced with LNG imported from Qatar, sources added.
