Restoration of LB system in Karachi is for betterment of the country: Taj Haider
Talking to VOA, he said the country was currently passing through a difficult phase and therefore people need to accept tough decisions in the larger interest of the country.
The government has to take concrete measures for restoration of long term peace in Karachi, he added.
To a question, he said the MQM had left the coalition government in the province prior to restore the commissionerate system.
He said PPP does not need the support of the MQM for establishing governments in centre and the province.
Taj Haider said that PPP has a satisfactory majority both in the province and centre. However, it is the need of the hour to confront the current challenges faced by the country collectively, he added.
The political parties should avoid mutual irritations and join hands with the PPP government, he said.
PPP Leader said that PPP withdrew from its principled stand in a bid to reduce the tension among the political parties and chasing one point agenda which is establishing of law and order situation in the country.
It is improper to term the decision of restoring the commissionerate system in the major cities a failure of the PPP and no one should doubt our intentions in this regard, he said.
