"Why should we allow the conditions to deteriorate to a point that we have to call in the Army," he said while answering newsmen questions after meeting with senior PPP leader Senator Dr Babar Awan.

The Governor arrived in Islamabad Friday evening from Karachi and later had a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidency.

He said that results of his meeting with Dr Awan would soon be evident. "Problems between political parties have a negative effect on the country. Certain elements use the situation to their advantage. Talks between the PPP and MQM were ongoing," Governor stated.

Dr Awan said his meeting with Dr Ebad "held in a cordial atmosphere was positive. President Asif Zardari and MQM chief Altaf Hussain had played a significant role to strengthen democracy in the country," he observed.
