Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI : Three ships carrying containers and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal

Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 62% on Tuesday where a total of eight ships namely C.V RHL Fiducia, C.V Glory, C.V Pago, M.V Alaska-II, M.V Hoi Yu, M.T Ginga Bobcat, M.T Al-Salam-II and M.V New Sun are currently occupying berths to load-offload containers, cement, urea, palm oil, diesel oil and corn respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently at the Port where a cargo volume of 100,980 tonnes, comprising 59,274 tonnes, imports and 41,709 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,246 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Four ships C.V RHL Fiducia, C.V Glory, M.T Ginga Bobcat and M.T Al-Salam-II expected to sail on Friday.

Four ship C.V MSC Jade, C.V Rio Elder, M.T Th. Symphony and M.T Green Park carrying containers, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Friday, Aug 5.
