The death toll has risen to 10 since the collapse of the six-storey building on Thursday morning in the narrow lanes of the congested locality.

The body of Mohammed Jaffer, 56, was recovered early this morning, said an official of Edhi Foundation.

At least 16 have been injured in the incident mostly women and children and shifted to Civil Hospital.

The other dead victims include Ali Shah 06, Bilal 16, Khalid 07, Hawa Bibi 50, Sagheer 22, Munna Bai 65, Yousuf 70, Ali Shah 6 and an unidentified 06-year-old girl.

The rescue sources said that operation was still underway to recover dead bodies and with chances of any safe recovery of the victims.

The building control authorities have blamed poor construction and seepage from the sewage lines the apparent reasons for the collapse of the building.
