Fawad Khan wins prestigious Filmfare award

Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan picked up his first Filmfare award on Saturday to mark his arrival in Bollywood film fraternity. He won the award for ‘Best Debut (Male)’ at the 60th Filmfare Awards for his role in ‘Khoobsurat’.

He was presented the award by Jhataleka Malhotra and his co-star in the film, Sonam Kapoor.

Fawad’s co-actor Sonam Kapoor posted a picture of current heartthrob of the nation proudly showing off his Filmfare trophy with his wife Sadaf. Sonam Kapoor too was nominated for ‘Khoobsurat’ in ‘Best Actress’ category.

According to Indian media reports, while receiving the award, Fawad said, “My message to fans would be, you guys are the instrument of my success. It is beautiful to get love from people in India and Pakistan”. He also thanked the entire Kapoor family, Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor (Producer) and his co-star Sonam Kapoor for giving him this chance.

With this, Fawad Khan has become first Pakistani to receive this prestigious award. The Filmfare awards are one of the oldest and most prominent film related awards in India.
